You have to install one of the small software which is called cpuz. Then you are ready to check about your CPU configuration It can support any Os, Like windows xp, vista or windows 7
How to Check Most Easily if your CPU supports 64-bit OS or 32 bit ?
Okay First of all Download cpuz
Run it, after run you can see one of the line which is showing Under Instructions from CPU tab, EM64T (if its Intel) or AMD64 (if its AMD) then your processor is 64-bit capable. So if you are using 64 bit OS you will see EM64T for intel
